No More Landfills - Let's Use Trash for Energy! - The Petition Site

Target: U.S. EPA
Sponsored by: Care2.com

Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands are all ramping up their waste-to-energy plants. These plants use a very new and clean technology to convert non-recyclable waste into heat and energy. Some communities get as much as 80 percent of their heat from these clean incinerators.

And even more amazing, these waste-to-energy plants produce less pollutants than our current landfills due to their ability to capture pollutants.

The plants create 9 times the energy, are cleaner, and isolate toxins that are in the current system being leached into our groundwater. So why hasn't the U.S. adopted this system?

It's time the U.S. stopped lagging behind Europe in clean energy technology. Tell the EPA to start taking waste-to-energy plants seriously!
